A Greymouth teenager was killed this afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle while out running with friends.
Sergeant David Cross of Greymouth police said 16-year-old Alistair Bromley was struck from behind and killed instantly while out on a training run with colleagues.
The accident happened at 2.40pm on North Beach Rd, Cobden. The runners were returning from the Point Elizabeth track, just north of Greymouth. No further details were available.
