A 50-year-old man has been arrested over a kidnapping incident in Whangarei last month.
The man, who has been charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping, will appear in Whangarei District Court tomorrow.
The man allegedly threatened a 33-year-old woman with a knife when she was parked in the Laurie Hall car park. He then allegedly forced her to drive around Whangarei before leaving her and her car in the Town Basin.
Police were pleased to have made an arrest, Detective Sergeant Shane Pilmer said.
"It has been a very traumatic time for the victim and this result also provides reassurance to members of the public that police will act with urgency in resolving serious crimes such as this."
