A man is in hospital with critical injuries and a woman has a broken arm after an early morning crash in Canterbury.
Police were called to the incident, at the intersection of Station Rd and Loburn Whiterock Rd in Loburn, shortly after 1.30am today.
The car had crashed and rolled, injuring two people inside, a police spokeswoman said.
No other vehicles were involved.
A man was flown to Christchurch Hospital by helicopter in a critical condition, while the woman suffered a broken arm.
Police were investigating the cause of the crash, which was not yet known, the spokeswoman said.
It has been a horror week on New Zealand roads, with eight people killed and 12 injured - including three critically.
Three people died after being hit by trains in two separate incidents. A woman was killed at Hornby, near Christchurch, last night while two peole died at Papakura in South Auckland on Friday night.
