A man has died after his car crashed into a stream in Taranaki this morning.
Siolo Malili (36), of New Plymouth, was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle that crashed on Wiremu Rd in Opunake before 6.50am.
The crash was discovered by a member of the public who called police.
"It appears the vehicle has left the road and crashed into the stream beside the road," police said this afternoon.
"Ambulance staff were the first to arrive at the scene and found Mr Malili deceased inside his car."
The serious crash unit was investigating.
