One person had died after a quad bike crash north of Timaru.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Prattley Rd and Macaulay Rd in Milford about 11.40pm on Saturday.
A quad bike had left the road and the male rider died at the scene, police said.
A scene examination was completed by the Serious Crash Unit, and the circumstances remain under investigation.
