All Black great Murray Mexted is refusing to talk about a legal dispute with his uncle which has ended up in court.
The dispute was due to be called in the High Court at Auckland yesterday but was adjourned after discussions in chambers when NZPA and other media were ordered out of court.
Mr Mexted, 57, and his three siblings have taken the action against their late mother Beverly Mexted's brother John Leon Taylor in a dispute over income from commercial property jointly owned by Mrs Mexted's trust and Mr Taylor's trust, the New Zealand Herald reported today.
The property was on Auckland's North Shore.
Neither Mr Taylor, nor Mr Mexted, a loose forward who played 34 tests for the All Blacks between 1979 and 1985, were in court yesterday.
Mr Mexted was coaching in South Africa and refused to comment. Lawyers for both sides also refused to comment outside court.
Mexted is to be part of Sky Sport's commentary team for the Rugby World Cup later this year.
