Open to all sheep breeds, the competition is for new season lambs born after July 1, which will be killed and judged "on the hook" at an Alliance Group plant for best overall yield.
The top two sheep from each class -- terminal sire, dual purpose, dual purpose/cross terminal, and composite/crossbred cross terminal -- will be ranked according to taste.
Legs from the finalists and results will be displayed at the show starting on November 11, with over $3000 in cash and prizes to be won.
Entries close on October 16.
