One person has died in a motor vehicle accident along the Northern Motorway on State Highway 1 in Auckland.
Police said the crash was in a northerly direction between Greville Rd and Oteha Valley Rd.
"A four-wheel-drive vehicle has left the motorway, crashed down a bank into a couple of lamp posts," a police spokesman said.
"The driver, despite CPR attempts, is deceased at the scene."
Police said they were informed of the accident at 5.38pm.
