A person died after being hit by a truck in Peketā, near Kaikōura yesterday morning.
Police said emergency services were called to the crash, between Inland Kaikōura Rd (SH70) and Rakanui Rd, about 9.20am.
"The person was a pedestrian and died at the scene."
State Highway 1 reopened about 2.40pm. — APL
