A person died after being struck by a bus in Manukau tonight.
Inspector Kay Lane of Northern Communications said the accident happened about 10.30pm.
"A pedestrian was standing outside a stationary vehicle on George Bolt Drive, when the person was struck by a passing bus travelling northbound."
Ms Lane said traffic travelling north on George Bolt Drive was now being diverted down Montgomerie Road.
She told NZPA that she could not confirm the gender of the person at this stage and enquiries were continuing.
