A pregnant 24 year old Timaru woman has been killed and her husband seriously hurt in a two-vehicle crash just north of Timaru today.
Their two children aged 4 and 5 were in the back seat of the car and have been treated for minor injuries.
The father, who was driving, was thrown from the vehicle by the impact of the collision.
Police said the crash happened at 2.55pm at the corner of SH1 and Divans Rd 5km north of Timaru.
"A car on Divans Rd appears to have pulled out onto SH1 and the vehicles have collided," police said in a statement.
