Push to attract overseas students

Education agents and education media members will tour New Zealand institutions and homestays this year in a bid to sell the country as a study destination.

The agents, from Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Germany, Brazil, China and the United States, commonly advise parents and students about where to study overseas.

The visits have been organised by Education New Zealand, which has also trained most of the 50 visiting agents about the education system and other aspects of studying in New Zealand. The agents must also abide by a code of ethics.

Air New Zealand is also hoping to raise its profile among visiting students.
