Radio New Zealand (RNZ) presenter Sean Plunket is to appear before the Employment Relations Authority today to challenge his employer's refusal to let him write a political column in Metro magazine.
Plunket was expected to argue he should be able to write for the magazine, as it was not in direct competition with RNZ for whom he co-hosts the Morning Report show.
The hearing in Wellington is set down for two days.
