Seven people are injured, including one in a critical condition, following a two car crash near Cambridge this morning.
The two vehicles collided on State Highway 1, around 15 kilometres south of Cambridge town, at 11.20am, police said, describing the crash as "serious".
Four people from one car were injured, including one person who was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition.
Three people from the second vehicle suffered moderate to minor injuries, police said.
SH1 was closed around the crash scene, and diversions were in place. Northbound vehicles would be diverted along Maungatautari Rd and southbound traffic along Karapiro Rd.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
