Stolen car in Auckland crash

Police are hunting for two people who fled on foot after a stolen car collided with another vehicle in Greenlane, Auckland, this morning.

Northern police communications centre Inspector Andy Brill said the accident happened just after 9am at the intersection of Manukau Rd and Greenlane West Rd.

The stolen car had four occupants who fled the scene after the accident. Police responded and said they had caught two of the occupants but were still hunting for the other two.

A witness at the scene said the incident happened outside the Greenlane Clinical Centre. The area was "crawling with cops and the police helicopter is buzzing the suburb, presumably looking for the culprit", he said.

Mr Brill said no injuries had been reported. The two occupants caught by police would be questioned before a decision was made on criminal charges.
