A student today admitted importing objectionable material after being caught with four violent porn films on his computer hard drive when he returned to New Zealand from China.
In Wellington District Court, Xuan Zhang, 21, of Karori, Wellington, pleaded guilty to four counts of importing prohibited goods.
He applied to be discharged without conviction and the case was adjourned to October 28.
New Zealand Customs Service said the films were found in Zhang's possession when he returned to New Zealand last year.
He did not declare any goods but when customs officers searched his luggage they found a hard drive containing four animated violent porn films.
Zhang became confrontational with the officers, saying they hated all Chinese people.
He provided them with a false address and was uncooperative throughout the investigation,
He said a friend had downloaded some Chinese movies for him but he denied knowing they were violent porn films.
