A teenager has been charged with manslaughter over the death of another teen in an Ohakune car crash.
Ezra Fluerty, 19, was killed and a 20-year-old man left in critical condition when the car they were travelling in failed to take a gentle bend and hit a post and raised stone-edged garden in the early hours of September 23.
The 18-year-old male driver initially faced charges of driving with excess breath alcohol and possession of cannabis.
However, the breath alcohol charge has since been withdrawn and replaced with one charge of manslaughter and two of driving with excess breath alcohol causing injury.
He will appear in Taihape District Court on November 13.
