ODTtv: Curran buoyed by Dunedin support for Labour

Labour's Clare Curran says she feels "fantastic" at being voted in again as the MP for Dunedin South, as the party vote has resurged in the electorate.

Ms Curran says the result was a testament to the hard work of her volunteers getting out into the community, and showed a strong sense of Labour values in Dunedin South.

With 100% of the vote counted, Labour was on 47.5% and National 36.2%, with Ms Curran on 18,674 votes compared to National candidate Matt Gregory's 11,236.

Voters also stuck with Labour in the Dunedn North electorate, and comfortably turned around the 2014 election's party vote losses.
