Bright future for electric vehicles

Dunedin Techweek is in full swing, as a part of that a talk was held on electric vehicles and the future of alternative fuelled cars. 
The South Today met with the guest speaker to talk about the future of electric vehicles in New Zealand.

While in theory this sounds the way to go, the initial price is horrendous, if you go on a long trip you only get about 300 km (as long as you don't use air conditioner or heater) and have to frantically look for a charging station--maybe in little NZ, but here in Canada, forget it.
And all to get rid of pollution, which is a great idea, but far too many people think it's non-polluting because electricity "just comes from a plug on the wall", forgetting it has to be generated somewhere....
