    New Zealand’s Paul Coll was beaten three games to one in the final of the Australian Open in Brisbane yesterday by second seed Karim Gawad, of Egypt.

    World number 4 Coll was top seed for the tournament but lost 9-11, 11-6, 13-11, 11-9 to Gawad, who is ranked eighth in the world.
