Review by Christine Powley

In Transporter 3 (Rialto and Hoyts) Frank has genuinely retired.

Fishing trips with his buddy Inspector Tarconi (Francois Berleand) are the highlight of his week.

However, Frank gets un-retired fast when a very bad man, Mr Johnson (Robert Knepper), wants to move a kidnap victim and decides only the best will do.

To keep Frank under control, he fits an explosive bracelet that will trigger if Frank gets out of range of the car.

Now I know the old exploding bracelet trick is not new, but so do the writers and they wisely do not make too much of a fetish of it.

So far Frank's troubles are the usual ones: a hot package and various baddies getting in his way.

But sexy young kidnap victim Valentina (Natalya Rudakova) is a new layer of complication.

A party girl with a pessimistic attitude, she wants to "make the sex" one last time before she dies and since Frank is the only man around, it's his lucky day.

At first he is reluctant, afraid to scratch the paintwork or something, but her spirited arguments win him over and then they are in love.

I could have done without all the love stuff, but the rest was a great lark.

Best thing: The fight scenes are ridiculously amusing, especially when Frank uses his clothing as a deadly weapon.

Worst thing: Giving Frank a love interest is not a bad thing, but did they have to make her so annoying?

See it with: Your boyfriend. Let him think it was his idea; you get credit for making an effort plus the opportunity to check out Jason Statham's pecs.
