A and P season starts

The agricultural and pastoral show season begins today with shows at Tapanui and Waimate.

West Otago A and P secretary Gay Stringer said the West Otago show would provide entertainment for the whole family, such as the Young Farmers "agri-kids" competition.

This year's show will include more than 80 market stalls, up on last year's 55.

Crowds will have a choice of entertainment, including Highland dancing and wood-chopping demonstrations.

The A and P show will be held at the Tapanui showgrounds and racing complex.
