Rock trio Bulletproof Convertible returns to Central Otago on Saturday for the annual Dead Rockers Ball.

This year the event is being held in Clyde at the Clyde Memorial Hall.

The event is raising funds for local charity Animal Rehab Central, a non-profit organisation based in Earnscleugh established in 2020 to provide a service to animals in need. It is a self-funded operation.

In a press release, the the band members say they loved playing in a community hall — "a venue of a million events, 21sts, weddings, funerals and town meetings".

"How lucky are we to tread the boards where so much has gone before us."

Fancy dress is encouraged.

"Some like to come as a dead rock star, some like to come in their dad’s suit from 1962, their ball gown from 1982 with the big puffy sleeves. Just make sure you are ready to rock with us, ’cause we are going to bring it hard."

  • Tickets are available from the bulletproof.nz website or in store at Pet Pit Stop in Alexandra. Pre-sales $40. Door sales $50.
