New Police Southern District Commander Inspector Paul Basham presented long service awards to Senior Sergeant Ian Kerrisk, Senior Constable Sam Williams and speed camera operator Paul Mussen at the Alexandra Police Station yesterday.

Snr Sgt Ian Kerrisk was recognised for 35 years of service, during which he has worked in Wanganui, Queenstown and Alexandra. Mr Mussen's 21 years of service at Alexandra began after a career in the motor industry in Invercargill.

Snr Const Williams has been in the police force for 14 years. He has been stationed in Dunedin, Cromwell and Alexandra.

It was Insp Basham's first visit to the region in his new role, which he started on Monday.
