A driver and 48 bobby calves had a lucky escape when a stock truck rolled off the road between Roxburgh and Millers flat today.

All escaped injury in the single vehicle crash, about 4km from Millers Flat, on Teviot Rd, Senior Constable Lance Davies, of Roxburgh said.

Snr Const Davies said the driver had veered off the road about 11.45am and the vehicle had ''come to rest'' against willow trees.

Two fire appliances and one police vehicle attended the incident.

The bobby calves were removed from the truck and taken by a local farmer to a nearby property where they were checked by a vet, Snr Const Davies said.

Police were investigating.
