Alexandra police are asking the public to help to identify a man wanted in relation to an attempted robbery at an Alexandra dairy last night.
Police said the suspect was wearing a pillow case over his head as he entered the Night 'n Day dairy in Alexandra about 11pm and threw a rock to break a glass cabinet.
It is alleged he demanded money and cigarettes from two dairy staff who hid out back, before trying to open the cigarette cabinet himself.
He failed and fled on foot toward Killarney St.
One dairy employee suffered minor injuries after being cut by a shard of glass.
The suspect was described as having a solid build, police said.
Any members of the public that recognise this man or have any information about the incident are asked to contact Police on 105 or by going into the Alexandra Police Station.
Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
