Plans for Clyde's Dunstan Hotel remain unknown but its new owner has revealed there may be other parties involved.

Last month, the pub of more than 100 years closed its doors indefinitely after the building was sold.

The purchase of the building in Sunderland St has upset many Clyde residents, who have spoken out on social media about their concerns the business would not continue as a pub.

About 15 staff were employed by the hotel, including two who worked full time.

Kevin Gallagher had owned the hotel for three years and confirmed he had sold it to Timeless Land Investments Ltd.

Sale and purchase was completed earlier this month.

Philippa Thomson, sole director of the company, also runs Cycle Surgery Rail Trail Ltd, in Middlemarch.

When asked whether other were parties involved, she said "there may be, but it's not for me to say".

A decision is yet to be made public on the future of the site.

The Otago Daily Times asked Ms Thomson if she could comment on what plans she had for the building.

She said "they were still planning" and could not comment until those plans had been finalised.

She did confirm they were in the process of selling some of the building's chattels.
