Delivery of voting papers for the Vincent ward by-election began last week and voting closes on March 3.
Three candidates had been nominated for the seat: Veterinarian Andrew Dowling, business owner Nat Jamieson and former council staff member Louise van der Voort.
The seat was left vacant days after October’s local body elections when councillor-elect Dave McKenzie stood down.
Two meet the candidates events have been advertised.
