A digger is brought in to rescue Geoff Linn's trailer, tractor and new four-wheel-drive ute, after they became stuck on his Old Mill Rd property, just south of Oamaru yesterday.

Mr Linn (standing to the right of digger) and his wife Trish, moved to the lifestyle block late last year.

Yesterday, Mr Linn set off down a slippery track in his Great Wall four-wheel-drive ute, but it slid into a fence.

He called for a tractor to pull the utility off the fence, but it also slipped and got stuck.

The ultimate answer was to hire a digger from Whitestone Contracting to get all three vehicles out before dark.
