Arrested in relation to burglaries

A second person has been charged in relation to a series of burglaries in North Otago.

A 24-year-old Oamaru woman was arrested at 8am on Wednesday in Oamaru, in relation to a burglary in Oamaru-Alma Rd on January 11.

A police spokeswoman said among the items stolen were tools, fishing gear, a hiking pack, alcohol and clothes.

The woman was charged with burglary and was due in the Oamaru District Court on January 26.

Last week, police executed a search warrant, and charged a 42-year-old man in relation to another burglary in Oamaru-Alma Rd on January 6.

The man appeared in the Timaru District Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody.
