Car towing caravan crashes near Herbert

The road is now clear after a crash involving a car and caravan near Herbert.

A police spokeswoman said they were called about 1.35pm to what was described as a single-vehicle crash of a car towing a caravan near Finlayson Rd.

There appeared to be no injuries, but traffic management had been put in place.

Earlier today, the Herbert-Hampden road had not been closed, though it would ''require effort to clear''.

The NZ Transport Agency said at 4.15pm that the road had been cleared.
