The annual Harvest Home festival will be held on April 3, with country singer Tami Neilson as headline act.
Neilson, originally from Canada and now living in Auckland, is a two-time winner of the New Zealand Tui Award for best country album in 2009 and 2010.
She has shared the stage with Johnny Cash and her debut solo album, Red Dirt Angel, included a duet with Cash's sister, Joanne Cash.
The festival will run from 10.30am until 4.30pm and there will be "lots to do, lots to see", Totara Estate manager Paula East said.
Attractions include heritage and traditional craft displays and demonstrations, vintage machinery, a stock-whip show, children's activities, magician Jonathan Usher, an animal tent and food and refreshment stalls.
There will be the annual swaggers' race to the top of nearby Sebastapol Hill, along with a children's swaggers' race, and swaggers will also be sitting around the camp fire "telling swaggery stories", she said.
There will be limited parking on the site, including mobility parking, and visitors were encouraged to park at Clarks Mill, just north of Maheno. Free buses will run every half-hour.
Clarks Mill, the oldest most intact mill in the country, will be open for self-guided tours for a gold coin donation.
