Fire and Emergency New Zealand have a 30 metre fire near Palmerston well contained.
A Fenz spokesman said they were alerted at 1.40pm to a fire at a property on Palmerston-Dunback Rd.
Two fire hoses were in use and everything appeared "good as gold", he said.
There were no injuries to report.
