Man on burglary charges

An Oamaru man has been arrested following a spate of burglaries.

A police spokeswoman said the 34-year-old was charged with a Kurow burglary which occurred between June 11 and 14.

Industrial ropes, carabiners, helmets and test-tagging equipment were recovered in relation to the incident.

The man was also charged in relation to a burglary at a storage unit facility at the corner of Humber and Usk Sts at the weekend.

The man was charged with theft of a car and burglary, the spokeswoman said.

He appeared in the Timaru District Court yesterday , and would appear in the Oamaru District Court on July 21.

Police also arrested an Oamaru woman in relation to a historic burglary.

The 31-year-old was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified in Kaikoura, and was charged with a Christchurch burglary from April, the spokeswoman said.

She also appeared in the Timaru District Court yesterday.
