He is appealing to the victims of thefts throughout the southern region to claim recently recovered goods, including petrol tanks and tool boxes.
Det Duncan said police found the items after arresting a man in Dunedin recently. They believed the transient man had stolen the items from Otago and Southland some time this year, he said.
The items include a red tool box with "Night Shift" written on it and a boat's red fuel tank emblazoned with "Addicted".
Fushion sound speakers, several boat petrol tanks, tool boxes and plastic jerry cans were also recovered.
Those who believe their belongings are included in the haul should call Det Duncan on (03) 433-1400.
