More than 3500 public submissions have so far been received on proposals for three big dairy farm developments in the Ohau and Omarama areas with one day to go for public submissions on two of those.
Environment Canterbury (ECan) is receiving submissions by email or through its website at the rate of two to three a minute, apart from those being physically delivered to its Christchurch and Timaru offices.
ECan resource consents staff expect more to be delivered to their office tomorrow, as well as electronically.
Submissions on applications by Five Rivers Ltd and Southdown Holdings Ltd close at 5pm today. Submissions on the third proposal from Williamson Holdings close at 5pm on January 15.
