Two injured in crash near Herbert

Two people with minor injuries were airlifted to Dunedin Hospital yesterday morning, following a single-car accident near Herbert.

A St John ambulance spokeswoman said a passing motorcyclist called in the accident at 11am, just south of Herbert, after coming across a car with two passengers which had gone off the road and into trees.

Several police vehicles, an ambulance and fire crews from Oamaru, Weston and Kakanui were called out, as well as the Otago Regional Rescue helicopter, the latter delivering the two injured people to Dunedin.
