Fish, birds and plants will feature at Lake Wainono, near Waimate, tomorrow as part of World Wetlands Day.
The Department of Conservation, Environment Canterbury and Central South Island Fish and Game Council have combined to stage the "Wonderful Wainono" day.
Attractions include fly fishing and spin casting demonstrations, a duck-calling competition, fish tank, bird displays and bird watching.
Lake Wainono and its surrounding wetlands are nationally recognised and feature a large range of bird and fish life.
American "fishing guru" Tom Doerr and his wife, Lorraine, will instruct and "talk fishing".
The event starts at 10am at the end of Lake Rd, at the northern turn-off to Waimate from State Highway 1.
