$1120 raised for abuse prevention

Jigsaw Central Lakes is $1120 better off after it received on Friday the proceeds of the special 99th anniversary TSS Earnslaw cruise in October.

Earnslaw manager Angus Small gave the cheque to Heather Riddell, representative of the free community service formerly known as the Wakatipu Abuse Prevention Network.

Wakatipu senior citizens were invited on the cruise at the discounted price of $10 a ticket to raise the money.

"We're constantly having to raise funds and are extremely grateful for this," Ms Riddell said.

"We're dealing with more and more people, so it will be put towards our operational costs."
