Alcohol was the link between all but two of the nine offences Queenstown police dealt with over the weekend.
A 24-year-old Australian man was arrested and charged with intentional damage after he allegedly smashed a side window of a taxi van on Ballarat St with his fist, on Saturday at 12.40am.
Sergeant Brian Cameron, of Queenstown, said the man had consumed some herbal pills before drinking and had an adverse reaction. The man allegedly caused $300 of damage to the taxi van.
The man spent most of Saturday being treated at Lakes District Hospital and was bailed to appear at the Queenstown District Court.
"That would highlight that people should not be mixing alcohol with any kind of drug, legal or otherwise," Sgt Cameron said.
An intoxicated Brazilian man living in Queenstown was charged with intentional damage after he allegedly entered the Bunker bar and broke two wine glasses and two water glasses, on Saturday, at 4am.
An 18-year-old Queenstown man was arrested for driving while suspended, on the Camp and Shotover Sts intersection, on Saturday, at 9pm.
His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
