Police seek witnesses

Balclutha police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed an incident in the town on Wednesday, April 4.

Police did not respond to a request for details of the incident yesterday, but in a press release, Detective Sergeant Hayden Smale, of Balclutha, said a person or people in a red ute might be able to help police with their inquiries.

The ute was last seen in the Moores Beach, Clutha Valley Rd area that evening, he said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Det Sgt Smale at the Balclutha Police Station on (03) 418-0203.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

You can help us continue to bring you local news you can trust by becoming a supporter.
