Aqualand offering all-in pass

An "all-encompassing pass" designed to increase the fitness and recreation options for Queenstown residents was last week released by Lakes Leisure.

The pass includes access to the Alpine Health and Fitness Centre, Lakes Leisure fitness classes, Alpine Aqualand and other aquatic facilities in the district, and all other Queenstown Events Centre facilities on an "as-available" basis.

A "pre-opening special" offered annual membership at $750 and six-month membership at $475 (cash prices).

After that, annual membership would be $849 "up front" and from $19.95 weekly.

"Our emphasis is on making fitness and leisure as accessible as possible for the widest range of community members," Lakes Leisure chief executive Fiona McKissock said.

"We are an integrated facility, which means that we need flexibility in terms of timetables and opening hours to ensure delivery of fantastic events such as one-day cricket, Golden Oldies Netball and the Shotover Jet Remarkable Christmas Spectacular. Our price reflects this."

Other packages were also available.

There is no joining fee.

The Alpine Health and Fitness Centre is scheduled to open on October 24.
