"We get lots of Arrowtowners, but we'd like to see some Queenstown entries this year."

The annual show has been running for more than 80 years and this Friday will feature a high tea party for visitors as well as the regular children's activities.

"We've really gone all out this year, as we've got some enthusiastic members.""It's all very competitive."

The show starts at the Athenaeum Hall in Arrowtown at 1pm and ends at 5.30pm.

• The Glenorchy flower show will be held on October 8 at the Glenorchy Hall starting at 2pm.
