The American multiplatinum selling artist, known for Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Heartbreaker, We Belong and Invincible was announced by Greenstone Entertainment and Taupo Summer Concert Ltd yesterday.
Benatar is set to join top guitarist-producer and husband Neil Giraldo, rock 'n' roll giants Bachman and Turner, plus classic rock band America on stage for the open-air concert on February 23.
They will also perform in Taupo and Matakana.
Promoter Amanda Calvert said yesterday the three acts had collectively 18 chart and 21 album hits in New Zealand alone.
"This will be the first New Zealand show for both Benatar-Giraldo and Bachman and Turner, so fans will be excited to finally have the opportunity to see these acts, along with America, live in concert and performing in such beautiful and scenic outdoor locations."
Benatar and Giraldo said in a statement: "We've been to Australia several times and have looked across the Tasman Sea longingly at New Zealand.
"We are so excited to finally visit your beautiful island country."
Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, of Bachman-Turner Overdrive fame, and their new band - musicians Brent Howard, Marc LaFrance and Mick Dalla-Vee - will be Taking Care of Business while in New Zealand by performing their vast catalogue of hits along with a handful of new tracks.
America formed 42 years ago when Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell, along with late former bandmate Dan Peek, met in a London high school and harmonised their way to the top of the charts with their signature song A Horse With No Name.
America went on to deliver a string of hits such as You Can Do Magic, I Need You, Ventura Highway, Don't Cross the River, Three Roses, Tin Man, Lonely People and Sister Golden Hair, while collecting gold and platinum albums, a Grammy and more than 4 million album sales.
