Hot tip: Songstars

Songstars, Wakatipu's own showcase of original musical talent, returns for a second year this week.

Songstars will be staged in the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall on Thursday, June 7 to Saturday, June 9. A total of 10 finalists have been selected, after intensive auditions, to shine in the spotlight and perform their songs to a live audience.

The crowd will vote for its favourite original artist.

All performers will be given full staging with singers, dancers, orchestration, a live band and whatever is needed to make the most of their song.

Queenstown-based Underground Productions will bring Songstars to the stage after producing Rock and Roll Suicide, London Calling and Starry Eyed.

Door open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.
