Wanaka police are relieved no fires were lit on the corner of Chalmers St and Stratford Tce yesterday but continue to chase every lead as they hunt the person responsible for six deliberately-lit fires at the site since January 9.
Senior Sergeant Allan Grindell said media publicity had generated many leads, but the culprit had not yet been pinpointed.
"We are using different tactics, being proactive. There are various suspects, but at this point we have no firm suspects," he said.
The inquiry would continue.
Juveniles and visitors to Wanaka were not being ruled out.
"Certainly our focus is to catch this person. We have had a lot of people calling in . . . Our main focus is to prevent any more fires and apprehend the offender or offenders," Snr Sgt Grindell said.
