Ready to set out on their annual Skyline walk this week are Queenstown Primary School pupils (from left) Rubbica Jung (8), Kairi Nakayama (7), Aaron Leung (7), Ben Vanschreven (8), Brylee Tuinman-Bell (8) and Elise Streat (8).
Teacher Helen Excell said all senior and middle school pupils participated in the Skyline walks every year and it was an effective way of getting them ready for the school's outdoor education week, which starts next Monday.
‘‘They get everything sorted out, like shoes, sun hats, if they've got the right equipment.
‘‘And they learn how to walk in a group, if they have forgotten,'' she said.
Other activities taking place next week for Queenstown Primary School pupils will include an overnight trip to Bannockburn and a hikoi day.
