Men arrested after 'ruckus'

Two Queenstown men were arrested for fighting and a Queenstown woman was arrested for assault after an altercation at a Shotover St taxi rank early yesterday.

Acting Sergeant Phil Hamlin said the 31-year-old woman allegedly opened the rear door of a taxi and started "harassing and hitting" the passenger at about 12.30am.

"This gentleman's got out and maybe had some words. A sidekick of the female [arrives] and those two males have had a bit of a ruckus."

The sidekick received a cut above his right eye, which required medical attention, Acting Sgt Hamlin said.

• No-one was injured when a 31-year-old Australian man allegedly drove his rented Toyota Rav4 "at crawling speed" into the path of a 57-year-old Auckland man riding a 2008 Suzuki 800 on the Crown Range Rd, yesterday about noon, Acting Sgt Hamlin said.

Inquiries were continuing.
