The pupils were learning French through games and repetition and can introduce themselves, give their age, say where they live, ask what something is, identify colours, understand basic instructions and count to 20. Pupils and relatives then tucked into croissants, baguettes and pains au chocolat for lunch.
Principal Rebekah Key said: "Learning French, or any other non-English language, helps the children appreciate their own language more and prepares them to communicate with diverse cultures in the world."
