European Bakery owners Peter Price and Amanda O’Donoghue are putting their dough into more than just fresh bread.

The couple, who have owned the business since 2019, have decided to become a corporate supporter of the Queenstown Trails Trust.

Price says they decided to support the trust "while out riding the trails".

Having had a connection to Queenstown since the 1980s, they’ve seen the trail network develop over the decades into a world-class asset, O’Donoghue says.

"It’s amazing to see the expansion of the network and the positive environmental impacts it’s having, from conservation to trapping and planting."

To celebrate their partnership with the trust, they’re hosting a free event at Tucker Beach Reserve, by the Kimi-akau Bridge, on October 4 from 10am till noon.

Trail users will be able to grab locally-made donuts and other treats while out on the Queenstown trails.

Queenstown Trails partnerships manager Emily OLeary says its team is "absolutely thrilled" by European Bakery’s support.

"Amanda, Peter and their staff are such avid trail users who genuinely appreciate and understand the value and benefits the trails bring to our region."
